Off-Centre was born out of the desire to create an inclusive mentoring space for Bharatanatyam dancers who do not have access to such a resource due to various constraints.

Conceived with a core spirit of collaborative learning, Off-Centre will be a curated, interdisciplinary program sourced from different artistic traditions and forms. Participants will be exposed to a rich and diverse world of learning and artistic expression.

Artists with formal training and willing to put in the effort will be identified through an application process.

Selected candidates will be part of an intensive mentoring program with eminent artists across various fields.

What do we do?

Create a bridge between dancers who do not have access to resources, senior teachers and performers. Find new talent who deserve opportunities to learn and nurture them to perform with greater conviction.

Whom do we serve?

Dancers who have had formal training in dance but have not had opportunities to develop their careers due to a lack of support.

Dancers across all styles of Bharatanatyam are welcome to apply to the program.

How do we serve?

Curating holistic learning opportunities for participants to improve the quality of their craft and thought processes.

The participants will undergo three intensives of two weeks each during the one year program. Participants will present a performance at the end of the program.

Help participants find their own voice as an artist and be part of a network and community. This will include creating a basic dance portfolio, working on communication and presentation skills.
